The Texas Banded Bird Challenge (TBBC) is a research project developed to study Eurasian Collared Doves in order to learn more about their migration patterns, habitat preferences, age and more, as data is collected over the years to come. Birds are trapped, banded and released in various areas all over the state of Texas. Each year as these banded Eurasian Collared Dove are harvested and reported, the data collected on them will provide more information about this invasive species that now call Texas their home. The information gathered from this research can only be obtained if birds are reported. In order to improve the ratio of bands reported, prizes can be won by harvesting one of these TDHA banded birds. Every band is a winner but if you are entered in the TBBC you can win one of many other fantastic prizes. There are also five different divisions in which prizes are won.
The grand prize is a new truck from Hoffpauir Auto Group in Lampassas, TX. To win the truck the hunter must be entered in the TBBC and harvest a TDHA banded bird with a band that matches a predetermined number.
For a chance to win one of the many prizes, the hunter must be entered in the TBBC and harvest a TDHA banded bird. All qualified entries will be placed into a drawing to be held in January.
Outfitter must be entered in the TBBC by their company name. If a qualified band is harvested by one of their paid hunters, the outfitter will be entered into a drawing for a Trophy Trout Fishing trip in Baffin Bay.
